COVID-19 Texas Mental Health Support
Texas Health and Human Services has launched a 24/7 statewide mental health support line to help Texans experiencing anxiety, stress or emotional challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This new resource offers COVID-19-related mental health support for all Texans. People can call the Statewide COVID-19 Mental Health Support Line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week toll-free at 833-986-1919.

The Houston Area Women’s Center's residential campus housing women and children will stay open, while the Counseling and Education Campus at 1010 Waugh Drive remains temporarily closed. Support by phone is also available for: safe harbor hotel emergency assistance, 24/7 hotlines, hospital accompaniment, legal advocacy, children’s court services, housing and case management. To access services, clients are asked to call hotlines listed at hawc.org/contact/.

HCAP serves as the County Indigent Health Care Program for Montgomery County. As the payer of last resort, HCAP is designed to provide covered healthcare services to eligible, low income residents who have no other public or private health care benefits. MCHD contracts for services with local physicians, hospitals, and other providers.
